- spud1957ExplorerThey all are at risk of failure. Yes, Andersen has and there was a post where a B&W failed. Truck did some kind of swerve and the head ripped off the B&W base, resulting in the trailer flipping.
Say what you want, the head is not designed to rip off.
Pick your poison.
S - RollandBExplorerBest hitch is the one pulling my trailer. I've had a Husky Slider, Pullrite Superglide and now the B&W Companion. All I've been happy with, but the Companion is the best, hands down. Go on the B&W site and find the video on what the owner did in a down economy in the American town they make these hitches in. It will make you proud to support his company.
- ckwizard777ExplorerI have the Pullrite Super Fifth and love it.
The latch wraps around the pin better than any other hitch on the market.
My.002 cents - CardinalCamperExplorerAirSafe 25k been having mine since 2008 pricey but worth it to me

Just like which is the best truck, it is all a matter of opinion. Any of the name brand hitches are good.
You should ask the moderator to move this to the 5th wheel forum.
Hoo-ray for the Mod/s!
Didn't need to read any other posts - Why?
'Cause most folks (usually) have had only *ONE* hitch, so theirs is best.
In 2005, I purchased a PullRite SuperGlide. (SB pickup)
Still have it, does everything it's supposed to do, so no reason to change.
Are there other choices? - Sure! - Are they better choices? - Dunno.
You didn't say whether *you* have a short bed or long bed, which matters.
Research *YOUR* needs, don't rely on xx number of opinions on an internet forum - - and above all....
DON'T rely on dealers/salespersons for the correct info..:(
:C - NW_ExplorerExplorerI love our Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection. It's solid, quiet under way, very easy to hitch up and unhitch, impossible to "high hitch" which can cause thousands of $$ damage to your truck and 5th wheel and can be installed and removed easily by one person in a matter of minutes. I can't imagine going back to a conventional hitch.
- laknoxNomadx2 for anything by B&W! Also, the company is as good as their products.
Lyle - DurbExplorerThat all have their advantages and disadvantages such as install method, weight, jaw design, country of origin, chain requirements, price, articulation, and country of origin. All will attach your fiver securely to your truck frame. After trying another brand, a smooth, chuck free, towing experience became important to me so I ended up with a TrailerSaver.

What the best hitch is like asking whats the best truck. As you see its the one that owned at the present time.
I see the Binkley hitch head/then the big Curt mentioned more on commercial websites when a new person jumping into the business ask that type question.
Reese/B&W/others are considered too lite for this type full time work.
RV trailers are only used part time mostly in the warmer months so just about any brand hitch in the proper capacity will serve you well just like thousands of other RV owners out here past and present.
My vote goes to my 21 year old Reese.
My vote would also go to my Reese hitch, but if buying today it would definitely be the Andersen, for several reasons, some already mentioned. - ralphnjoannExplorerI'm 74 years old with a bad back. The rail-mount Andersen, at 42 pounds, was a no brainer.
