What is your BEST words of wisdom?

Make a check list of everything that needs to be done every time you get ready to hit the road. Put down even the most minor or seemingly obvious things. Then once in the pickup go through the list to make sure you are actually ready to leave. More than once I have seen a RV go flying by us and the sewer hose or power cord dragging behind them, or a cargo bay door open.
