Tonight I tried a few more things. I pinched off the vent completely. No Joy! Could only get 10 gallons into an empty tank before it overflowed the fill spout.
So I extended the vent hose up the side of the trailer to the same level as it would be if the idiots at Forest River had actually installed the vent hose.
And with all this...all I could squeeze into the tank is 29.9 gallons
Looks like I have 36 gallons of fresh water...Period...
