I hear you on the garage but the 26 gallon tank is a deal breaker for towing. The truck maybe in pristine garage kept condition but if it can only has a 200 mile range on a tank it is still makes it a poor tow vehicle.

Not that bad since we only do about 350 miles per day and not in hurry to get anywhere. Travel 200 miles in the morning - stop for lunch for hour or so and refuel - travel 150 miles in the afternoon and find a place to spend the night. I don't know how old you are but I found as I age my bladder is about 200 miles range on it also.

Being from Canada the law doesn't even apply to you so let me explain it to you.
1: The dealer/manufacturer has to supply you with a written description of how the after market part caused the affected part to prematurely fail; in order to deny your warranty.

2. If you believe their written description is full of sheet, you can take your case to the Attorney General, or to the FTC, which will review the case.

3. If you still disagree, then you can find a lawyer to sue. I don't know about Canada, but there are plenty of lawyers in the US who love to sue deep pockets without taking any fee from the complainant (i.e.: Jeffrey Fieger, Sam Bernstein, etc.). Matter of fact, they advertise no fee if you lose. If the lawyer won't take your case free, you probably don't have any legs left to stand on, the auto manufacturer is right, the after market part caused the failure; or the manufacturer is about to go bankrupt negating the deep pocket.

look at it from a manufacturers point of view ,if MM was any kind of threat to profits do you think for a moment that they would not defend themselves?
The first adverstment for a chip/delete/mod of any kind they would vigorously sue and kill that product?
They would come down like a ton of bricks on the after market .
MM is not a threat so they don't bother.Try and sue , no lawyer will do it without 6 figures to start .
How big is your legal staff?
How many floors do your legal department occupy ?

My dealer told me that it depends on the issue... IF the warranty issue/problem is directly related to the installation of the aftermarket piece, it would be void, or would fall on the supplier of that product. BUT, the dealer would have to prove that is was DIRECTLY related to that install..

In my case, If my tank failed, IF Ford would not stand by , Titan WOULD... I had several conversations with the owner of Titan during my buying process... Great guy ( forget his name ?? possibly Jim) , he actually also owns a few car dealers.. He gets in EARLY models and verifies the fit before they hit the market..

You say that from a point of personal experience or just personal opinion? My personal experience was, there was never a warranty denial on my truck which got a Titan 50 gal replacement tank two days after it left the dealers lot.

How about the reverse, Does anyone know of someone having a warranty issue denied that was not caused by the modification? You should be able to find plenty of people having warranty work denied if after market gas tanks were causing warranty issues.

The Magunson Moss act exists soley to keep a manuf from denying coverage and you having to take them to court! It's not as complicated as some make it out to be!
