I think that would be wasting the camp ground's water.:E

I leave my black tank valve closed. There's not enough water in the toilet to flush the waste all the way down the sewer hose.

This is the way I do it as well.

Another thing I do, is fill the black tank full ( 50 gallons) with water after dumping and then drain again! May be over kill but who knows!

I leave both of them closed until I dump. When we used to leave gray valve open but every so often depending on the site we would get a few odors up thru shower drain. To avoid that I keep both valves closed and give the gray tank handle a pull every morning. The black tank valve we always keep closed until we dump.

I never leave any tanks open leading into a sewer/septic hookup. Leaving the gray open just lets all the sewer gas go right into your tank. And as mentioned above its best left closed to fill and dump after you have dumped your black to flush y pipe and hose.

I kelp the black closed and the gray stays open until the after the last night showers and then it gets closed. The day that we leave I spend about an hour flushing the black and after the morning showers and cleaning the camper the gray tanks have become full so after the black tank is running clear water I close that value and dump the gray. After the gray I clean the sewer hose and everything is stored in a tote till next time.

Black closed and both grays open until day of departure. When ready to leave or needing to dump black tank I dump the black, close and fill tank for 4 min (figured for my tank) using San T Flush. Empty and repeat as needed. Usually 2-3 times will show clear water thru the clear elbow. Dump Gray tanks. Flush slinky with gray water hose.

All stay closed. Black and gray are joined together. So I use a 3rd sleeve, knife blade type valve with a 6 inch clear section. Then I dump the black first, close off the 3rd valve, and then let the gray back flush into the black for about 10 seconds, then close off the gray and open the 3 rd valve again. I repeat this at least twice and it pulls a LOT more out of the black tank. I then close off the black and let the gray wash the sewer hose. I then connect to the galley tank and let it drain last. This cleans the hose pretty good.

If you've never tried the back-flush process between your black and gray, try it. You'll be amazed how much more comes out when you back flush like that, and ... it does not take extra water to clean the tank out.

Both closed until ready to dump, and slinky stowed until ready to dump. Just the way we've always done it.

Well I have three, Black, Galley, and Grey. All stay closed until I need to drain, that way I have plenty of clean water to rinse the black water leavings.
