- jnharleyExplorerWe have the Spledide stackables and are very pleased with their performance. We have a separate closet for them and the dryer is stacked directly on top of the washer and we have a drain pan installed underneath the washer that will drain out through the bottom of the 5th wheel in case of an accident. We also have an access panel on the outside wall so we can get into the back of the washer/dryer without having to pull them out. Very handy! Do not think ours is strapped down in any way except together. At least I cannot see any type of strapping and they never move when traveling. The washer does shake the RV a bit at the beginning of the spin cycle but that is it. Wouldn't travel without them.
- 3_dog_nightsExplorerUPDATE - Danby is connected and running. Ran the first cycle with nothing and was impressed with noise and vibration levels. Ran the next load with 10-12 tee shirts. No noise, no vibrations and the shirts came out damp.... not wet, damp.
Wife is very happy! Will continue to update as we travel. - drillkingExplorerMy better half says I'm clueless! If I were in your vicinity I'd probably help you out!
- Jerry_BExplorerI got the Dryer hooked up today. I have it on a plywood shelf situated above the washer position and secured to the walls.. I'm going to try to run screws up thru the plywood platform into the dryer to secure it. The washer is about 180 lbs so I need to find some unsuspecting person to help me into the RV with it.

Thank You ! I chose the Danby because I've had one of there apt size refer running for 15 years now, with heavy use. It spent the first 13 years in my warehouse with employees opening and shutting every few minutes. Warehouse was not climate controled so it fought the temps. Last couple of years it's been in my garage (also no climate control) keeping my beer cold, still gets preety good use. With that service record I bought the washer. It'll last forever! Unless she fiqures out I need to hook it up. - GemstoneExplorer"I bought the Danby portable"....
good luck with that...that would be like my DW thinking she was doing me a favor and buying me a cheap table saw...not gonna happen.

I used a non-skid/anti-fatigue rubber mat between the washer and the dryer..looped 2 cargo straps over the top, down thru holes in the floor, to fastening points I had welded onto the frame under the floor....very secure.

Gemstone - 3_dog_nightsExplorerI bought the Danby portable, removed the wheels and placed in the closet on no-skid rubber mat. Wife loves it! Hasn't fiquredout yet that it's not connected.
Just going along for the ride, but she's happy to have it. Got a big trip planned and I think she's going to realize it's not plumbed or plugged in. I suspect it will be on my immediate to do list. Anyway, I vote for the Danby, got it at Wally World for $299. - drillkingExplorerOurs was installed when we got the RV. Side by side. They don't move!

We have been using Whirlpool separates fulltime since '06...the only problem we have had was an errant dime found it's way to the pump. As for shaking, when I installed the dryer on top of the washer, I used cargo straps over the top to cinch the pair through the floor to the frame structure below the floor...they have not budged since the installation. As a rule, top load machines do not have the higher spin rate of a front load machine.

This is my next concern, how to secure the mess in the closet.
