- GemstoneExplorerWe have been using Whirlpool separates fulltime since '06...the only problem we have had was an errant dime found it's way to the pump. As for shaking, when I installed the dryer on top of the washer, I used cargo straps over the top to cinch the pair through the floor to the frame structure below the floor...they have not budged since the installation. As a rule, top load machines do not have the higher spin rate of a front load machine.

Gemstone - RAINEYTXXExplorerWe have the Whirlpool WFC 7500VW in our Suites and gets a lot of use with family of 4 FT with two kids active in sports. Sometimes we have trouble getting it to start and have found that that is a common problem with this machine. Also, no easy drain clean out-the pump must be removed to do that so be careful if you may leave stuff in your pockets! We had the Splendide before and had smaller capacity and took longer. We thought of replacing it, but there are not many 24" units that had good ratings! Ours is mounted in a slide and does produce some vibration but all do and is no worse than Splendide. Maytag support was weak-asked for exploded view of the washing machine to order parts and they sent me an exploded view of an RV range. They also tried repeatedly to sell me an extended warranty when talking about issues with mine.

The 24 inch Whirlpool washer and dryer IS an apartment sized set????
Not entirely sure if this is a question--but yes, the Whirlpool being talked about is an apartment sized set. And as I mentioned, we think it holds a decent size load considering that is the case. - drillkingExplorerThe wife used a Splendide W/D combo for three yrs. used to shake rattle and roll. It was non vented and she had to pull the clothes out and hang them to dry or they were wrinkled worse than my face. She has the Whirlpool W/D in the new RV and it doesn't shake the RV at all. Clothes are dry. She is very pleased so so am I!
- R12RTeeExplorerWe have the Whirlpool WFC 750O W2 in our Suites. It is the optional W/D instead of the Splendide. The vibration is not bad and we are happy with it so far. We have been using it a few times a week since purchasing in the beginning of March this year. When the spin cycle is going it sounds like a turbocharger on a truck. Not loud but certainly sounds FAST.

We have had ours for almost seven years...the original washer, which was a different model, blew out the circuit board. Insurance replaced it with the updated 7500 model...works great! - bigmichaelExplorerWe have had the Whirlpool washer and dryer for a year now, and like it very much. Can do a surprising size load, considering an apartment size washer and dryer. Can feel some vibration when the washer is in spin cycle, but it is minimal, and not really a big deal. FTed now for 6 years, and this is the first year we have had a W & D in the rig. Suspect we would never be without now that we have gotten spoiled.
- Jerry_BExplorerRob, glad to hear it. We have the Whirlpool on order. I see it has many bad reviews and was hoping to hear from someone who actually has one. I am going to put vibration isolators on the feet and set the whole thing on a 3/4 in. slab of plywood. Thanks folks for the answers.
- Rob_FlaExplorerWe have the Maytag 24" Compact Front Load Washing Machine.
It is made by Whirlpool and is basically the same machine as the Whirlpool model with a different name on it.
It has served us well for almost 2 years with regular use.
We also have a Sears 120 Volt front load dryer that performs very well too. - mowermechExplorerWe lived with a Splendide vented washer/dryer combo for a little over two years. We found it to be an excellent machine. It did one or two loads per day, 5 or 6 days a week.
Yes, it did shake the trailer a little during the high speed spin cycle, but we found it to be rather relaxing, sort of like a vibrating bed or recliner!
I would get a Splendide again, if I had room for it.
I have no experience with any other RV sized machines.
