Will the trailer hit the in bed tool box?

I also have a 6'6" bed and I have no issues with my trailer coming in contact with this low profile box, even on uneven ground.

Try logging into the RV NET using the GOOD SAM or TRAILERLIFE PORTAL.

The RV NET portal doesn't like to send photos sometimes when they include special symbols in the link... The percent sign % is one that bothers it...

Your slider is most likely going to keep you from hitting the toolbox, just try some 90degree turns in a parking lot to test. Do it slow and easy and you can see the clearance that you have or don't have.

I have a slightly newer version of your same truck. For me the 5th wheel pin weight was something I had to manage. It would have been easy for me to buy a 5th wheel that was too heavy for my truck. There were two things I had to avoid.

First was no toolbox (I didn't want to give up the weight of the box much less what I might throw in it).

Second was a slider hitch (they were all just too heavy) but at 6.6ft that extra foot in my bed worked out ok when compared to the crew cab trucks that had a 5.5ft bed. For your 6.5ft bed you may be able to do as I did and use a Curt Extenda Ball which basically moves your in-bed gooseball 4" toward the tailgate and then the Andersen sits on top of that.

It sits on top of the bed rails. It is not flush like Cummins's is. Makes sense now, maybe I'll sell the one that came with the truck and look into the flush tool boxes. I tried uploading a picture but it doesnt seem to be working right now.

I always thought something like this would be the greatest use of tool boxes with the fifth wheel hitch...

Have seen those folding hard top bed covers (FOLD-A-COVER Brand) used with fifth wheel hitches. These would stack up just behind the rear window and when unhitched you can cover up the whole truck bed again for keeping things safe inside the truck bed...

Leave it in, only you can determine if it will hit.

If your tool box sits higher than this as in 4-6" above the bed rails I would not use it towing a 5er.
