Winterizing new Jayco HT 5th wheel

We just took possession of a new 2017 Jayco HT 28.5 RSTS 5th wheel, and had a two hour inservice; unfortunately, the technician wasn't able to take us through the steps of dewinterizing/winterizing the trailer. We owned a 2008 Jayco Superlite for many years and had a nice visual guide from the dealer we purchased it from. This new rig has a completely different system and we are baffled. Does anyone know of a video or print-out with diagrams for winterizing the new one?

I'm puzzled by this. Why not? Time? Lack of knowledge? This is/should be part of the PDI. Can you ask the dealer to let you come and have someone go over it with a unit on the lot? They owe this to you.
  • - Drain the low point drains (you should be able to find these by crawling under the trailer)
    - Drain the water heater
    - If you have an ice maker I can't help you here
    - Pump pink antifreeze through the lines using the onboard pump (this should be the way you did it with the last trailer). If you don't have the by-pass line on the pump for pumping in antifreeze, buy a by-pass kit and install it on the suction side of the pump.
    - Pour Antifreeze in the drains (traps)

If it's new, and has never had water in it, there is nothing to winterize. As a Canadian, I know where you are.. it's cold up there. Charge, then disconnect the battery and leave it in a safe place.

But we are leaving for California next month and returning mid-March, so we will be winterizing at that time, and would like to be prepared.

On the other hand, it looks like you have a two day window to winterize from the Weather Network. If you have a tank air compressor you can do it that way, or use pink. But only if the rig has had water in it. Normally new is empty.

If you need help, please PM me.. I have done it many many times.
