You gotta' see this!

Nothing surprises me anymore. The DW was watching the Music Awards last night. I never thought I would see a female singer grabbing her crotch while singing a song either!

most likely not but when I was a kid no one wanted anything to do w/ a Honda either. And most products from asia had a tag that could be scratched off so as not embarrass yourself. Boy have times changed.

I, for one, would love to see a little Japanese competition for the US RV industry. The quality of the US-built vehicle you drive today is a direct result of the competition from Honda, Toyota, and Datsun that arrived here in the 70's.

I started riding bikes in 1970 and I still remember the original Honda 750cc 4 cylinder bike. It was light years ahead of the bikes made in the UK, Italy and the US. But Honda had started here with their 50cc step thru scooter (You meet the nicest people on a Honda), which was laughed at by all the folks who rode 'real' motorcycles.

I think things now in the RV industry are very similar to that situation. No competition except from each other. The customer performs PDI. Etc. A real shake up might be a good thing.

Take a look at the original Honda cars from back then - small, innovative, cheap to buy, and funny looking, but they didn't break and just ran and ran.

So I would not dismiss this idea. Yes, I know in it's present form, it cannot meet US crash standards, but remember this is a concept car. They're floating the idea to see what kind of response they get. Honda pretty much succeeds at anything they set their mind to.

Actually there are "K" cars in japan that have a restricted engine size and they have converted some of them into "caravans" as they call them. Look up Japanese K cars and there are youtube videos of the campers. Not something for an extended trip .
