We just helped our elderly friends relieve themselves of 65 years of mutually gathered "stuff" and the "stuff" they had was unbelievable. This was a couple that had lived through very hard as well as lucrative times. This is the reason we found such items as nails yet to be straightened for reuse and corn brooms that had been trimmed as they frayed to the point of looking more like some sort of club than a beautiful handmade corn broom. LOL
We purge our house every 6 months. Every drawer, closet and hiding spot is gone through. We have been doing this for25 years. Things can be organised enough that one time when we moved we had not started to pack when the truck arrived. In 3 hours there was not one item left in our house, everything was on the truck, sorted and packed.
