dish network help

we got the hopper and joey in our rv as we fulltime and they dont make a dish that u just set out side u have to have another dish and aim it and we got ours 4 months ago so i carry a dish and just aim not hard u will get use to

Ditto! Following rmalik1's recommendation, I contacted the folks in Jacksonville. I was impressed with them; the Tailgater arrived earlier than I'd expected, and they were very helpful when I called them with set-up questions. I've had it a few months now and am very pleased with the Tailgater.

And Dish was so easy to deal with when I traveled 600 miles from my "home" area. Since I'll be here about 2 months, I wanted to change to local channels. Just called, changed my "service address" and within 10 minutes they appeared!

Ditto for DirectTV. I bought a used dish off craigslist with a triple LNB. I aim it manually, usually first try in about 10 minutes.

Turn on your dish go to menu then 6 -- 1 -- 1 then enter your current locations zip code the skew and Azimith and degrees are shown. May sure the stand is level. If you have a smart phone there are several apps that will show you where the satellites are in the sky.

I don't believe that your HOPPER will work with any carryout sat system. You're going to need a triple lnb dish on a tripod ---- 1000.2 or 1000.4, depending which satellite arc you desire to point at.

The Tailgater only works with the VIP 211K receiver. The hopper and joey will only work with the higher end dishes.

Dish makes a unit called Tailgater. You can get it at different places like Camping World for around $350. You hook it up and it will scan for satellites.
