My philosophy is that only I control my feelings, and I refuse to be bored. Even if I'm physically doing nothing, my mind is keeping me busy. I retired from a hectic 24/7/365 high stress job, and while it did take a few months to get it through my head that I didn't need to rush to get things done before I had to go back to work, I did learn to slow down and take things as they come. It was actually RV'ing that really brought it home that I was the one that controlled each day now, not the pressures of work. My wife was very supportive, having learned that lesson well before I did. Does your wife like to read? We've found e-books to be great fillers during down times between other activities like exploring the various areas and attractions as we travel. Heck, we even take days "off" from time to time, when we just relax and enjoy each others company while reading and discussing what we're reading and planning for the next few days. It takes time, but hopefully she'll catch on soon enough and figure out boredom is just a state of mind, and minds can be changed, even our own...
