Military campgrounds are as diverse as any. Some are wonderful and some just okay. Some let you stay all winter, others have a two week limit. Some you need reservation and others you can just show up. Most have all the amenities and some are dry parking lots.
I've stayed at Twenty-nine Palms in CA, and March AFB, Fallon NAS, Pacific Beach WA (and live by JBLM, where there are 3 if you include Camp Murray.) Holloman and Laughlin years ago but they were both nice.
Some of them have campground hosts, you might want to check that out.
Fulltiming isn't cheap, check out folks' blogs and see what it costs monthly.
