Fulltiming with 8 K9's RV parks? lol

I know you signed off, but it is good to hear from you WRVPO.

Your post is right on. We traveled with three dogs for years. We were never turned away from a park with three dogs.

We always called ahead, asked for permission, and let the park know the breed BEFORE going there.

We still travel with three people. One is mentally disabled. We have never ever paid an "extra person" charge either, after explaining that our third person will not use any facilities. This is done at check in or prior to our arrival.

The truth is always better.

I haven't posted in these forums for a while, and I will be signing off as soon as I finish this post, but the guy wants real world experience, so here it is.
1. NO WAY would we allow eight dogs. We have a two dog limit and make multiple exceptions yearly, but eight is too many.
2. Lie about the number of dogs and that will get you a ticket out. At my parks, asking permission is much better than expecting forgiveness. I have zero tolerance for people attempting to circumvent my policies by telling lies.
3. Implying that your dogs are potentially covered by ADA laws, thus frightening un-informed owners and managers into accepting your dogs when they otherwise would not is beyond reprehensible. There are people who require Service Animals and trading off their unfortunate circumstances for personal gain is on par with conning the blind by telling them a five dollar bill is really a twenty or stealing a wheelchair bound woman's purse because she is easy to outrun. I would take great pleasure in escorting anyone who tries such unscrupulous tactics off my property.

This is an interesting thread. Mmmm! We also have 8 pups (lap dogs) but are still in a S&B. However, we want to snowbird in another 18 mos. when we retire.

Now, when we go go camping, we claim to bring 2 dogs but usually take 3 and no one has ever bothered us. But, I know we can't do that for several months at an RV park. So, after much discussion, I think our only choice is to pick up a piece of property that we can call our own and park the 5'r on.

What do you mean when you say "remote places"? Then you add wanting water and sewer. Having electric hookups is far more common than sewer... Most campgrounds around me, which are not remote by any stretch, have electric and water, no sewer except for a few sites, but a dump station on site or a pump out service available.

Especially if you are talking about fulltiming, you are looking at a seasonal site? That is remote?

Do you really want a "remote" campsite if you will possibly need veterinarian services?

OP - Don't take this personally, but prior to spending a long time, week or more, at a campground we ask to see the site they are putting us. If I was to go to my site and you were there with 8 dogs, I'd leave the campground. I've had a lot of bad experiences with dog owners that don't take care of one dog never mind 8!!! And it is the dog owner.....Not the dog!!

Now, I've also come across dog owners that are very good with their dogs and respect other campers when it comes to taking care of there dogs, but they are the few. We also travelled with our dogs and let me tell you, you'd never know that there was a dog in our motorhome. She was extremely quite and well behaved....

Checking their site seems to indicate a four dog limit.

Don't assume All KOA are the same. Each location has different rules . I know of a few with breed restrictions.

I agree, your title says "lol" and we do not find it funny. Why do you need "8 comfort dogs". It is people like you that do not want to follow the rules and ruin it for other dogs owners that are responsible with the 2 limit rule.

Things have changed about pets in RV parks for good reason...and sooner than later ALL pet owners will be charged a per pet fee at the expense of those that abuse the policy. I don't doubt that CG owners will start inspecting rigs for those who "sneak" in multiple dogs.

You CHOOSE to have these dogs, there will be very few parks that will accept them.

You asked, you do not like the responses from experienced RV'ers that this is the number 1 complaint in RV parks.
