My Blue Cross Blue Shield is free for HMO bought and signed up for on healthcare dot Gov. Well, it's free after the annual $6,000.00 deductible, because I bought it through healthcare dot Gov it's free HMO... I'm under Medicare age.
Wow, that's a great price! Do you feel comfortable saying what zip code you used? I may need to move there.
I'm in Texas. Your monthly premium if any is based on your earned income - that's the reason mine is free for a Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO. But, not totally free to choose my own doctor. i.e. PPO.
But what the rate of FREE, has to do with is your stated earned or working income after your deductions. For example - as per the Government's classifications - if you earn say $45K a year? Well, then that free health insurance premium of mine would go to around $650.00 per month. If you earn less than around $20K a year after your Federal Income tax deductions on your tax return? Then it's free. Everything is measured with the Gov't's. control of the healthcare dot gov website.
BTW, age appropriate health check ups are free or close to it, as are low-priced prescriptions.
Best check your situation on-line @ healthcare dot gov Fill in the answers asked, and see what your rate is. I am under age 65, FWIW.
