Besides calling campgrounds to see if they have monthly rates, we've contacted locals in the area. 7 years ago, at a KOA in VA that didn't have monthly rates, DH asked the person at the desk about any places that might have them. They knew of a Mobile Home Park that had a few RV spaces. Much cheaper and closer to the jobsite.
Friday, we're heading to MN and I happened to spot a RV.net user who lived in the same city we're heading. They gave us the information on another MH Park and we were able to make reservations over the phone. Turns out it's less than 10 mins from jobsite and cheaper than some of the other RV Parks I found online.
Once I knew the name, I could find it easily. But there are so many obscure camping website locators, that it didn't show up on any of my previous searches.
We've stayed in quite a few MHP's, so we aren't concerned about finding one "site" unseen.
