Clear bubble wrap would be the only thing I've see that would allow in more light. Nothing without a double layer and a captive airspace is going to allow a good view and have the insulating properties of Reflectix.
My wife complains about the lack of light and I'm trying to find something I can use on the big windows. The problem is I haven't found bubble wrap that is 48 inches tall/ wide in anything less than a 50 foot roll.
There are some clear indoor and outdoor products designed for homes to seal a window. They are designed to adhere to the frame and be semi-permanent installations. Basically adding another layer of clear plastic to the frame to create a captive air space to add insulation capability. I haven't seriously considered those because the window becomes sealed and I can't open it for ventilation when temps are good.
Check Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot websites for window insulation.
3M makes a product called Thinsulate which is a stick-on film that only reduces 25% of the incoming light and "makes a single pane windows almost as efficient as a double pane window"
Key word 'almost' - nothing I've found indicates it has any actual R value.
