Q: trailer on cinder blocks

Question for those who use cinder blocks on semi-permanent sites. I have found this video: How to block up and level a travel trailer .

one thing I can't understand - why styrofoam at the bottom and plywood between the blocks?
OK, styrofoam might help blocks to sit evenly, full surface, on uneven ground with roots, rocks etc. Still unclear why plywood between the blocks.

Thanks, people. That's what I thought, more-less. Styrofoam as vapor barrier, plywood to start the next row of blocks on the level because they use 2 blocks side by side.

    Just joshing ya......

I am in the same class with you, calling them cinder blocks.:)

  • I've never seen it done that way, but with 2 blocks side by side, the plywood would serve as a continuous base for the next level of block. Also helps to start the second row ore level. Styrofoam, for a vapor barrier between ground and block...makes it much easier to remove the blocks because they will not sink in the ground.
  • Good question.
He did say 'some people like to put plywood between the blocks'.

I think the Styrofoam under the blocks would cause them to sit uneven when the weight of the TT is applied.

Hopefully someone can answer the questions.
