X2 on that being good advise. When we sold the house our thinking was that we would full time and see the country for 3 or 4 years, then buy or build another home.

Coming up on 2 years and there is no way we want to buy or build another home! May end up buying an RV lot somewhere but we sure changed our thoughts on having another stick built anytime soon.

Thank you everyone for your replies. God willing we will be pulling up roots in the only town we have ever lived in and start full-timing in about 4 years .Trying to figure out if we need to buy a port home or just hold off and see how things go. So confusing:) Thanks again!

As we've been on the road, nearly 10 years, I can envision the day we'll not feel comfortable towing and backing up into tight spots anymore. We'll trade the F450 in for a mid-size SUV. Seems like the best of both Worlds.

We looked all over and finally two years ago, we bought a lot within 2-hrs of the majority of our kids. That way, we can stay Independent for as long as possible and stay Rent Free when we're visiting long stretches. Made more sense than buying a Lot or Home in ID, OR, TX or FL, a long drive away and where we don't care for the Countryside or their Climate year round.

We have no immediate plan to "exit" the full time lifestyle anytime soon. We have kept our eye open for a lot in Florida where we could utilize it for our fiver and someday have a larger park model placed on it.

We have found a few but so far none that we are ready to purchase.

Years ago we converted our lakeside summer cottage in upstate NY to year round living. We maintain a full hookup RV site there for when we visit, but the cottage will likely be our final "destination" when the time comes that we can no longer travel. Our kids live near by and make sure the place is secure and maintained, since they use it on occasion as well.

We have a small cottage that we will live in if health issues or age prevent us from continuing our filltime adventures.

Now in our 14th year of full time traveling, our exit plan is to die out here, wherever we happen to fall. When one of us dies, the other will downsize and carry on, as capable. If incapable, there are choices in place that do not involve lingering unhappily.

Nope, no plans for an escape location. Absolutely no compelling reason to abandon the lifestyle. If we'd wanted to sit in one place and watch our lives ebb, we'd have stuck with the sticks and bricks 13 years ago.
