If you plan to full time you don't need a home base. Period. If you plan to travel 6 months per year or less then you might want to buy a lot or, even better, create a relationship with a CG that allows recurring extended stays. Lot ownership is way more expensive than the cost to buy the lot. The yearly "dues" and "assessments" can add thousands of dollars to the overall cost every year.
If you plan to live in an RV all year 'round you need to determine exactly what that means. Do you really like 1 place so much that you would be excited to return every year, forever? Would you be interested in exploring various parts of the US for extended periods of time when you don't want to be traveling?
As an example, let's say you don't want to move during the Winter months. There are awesome Winter locations in FL, TX, AZ, S. CA and many more depending upon your likes and dislikes.
What you do is up to you but if you buy it, you own it and there's no getting away from that.
