Sounds like a workable plan. Freedom from the Stick & Brick is great! Not just the house but the YARD! I sure don't miss it!
We sold our house, bought an RV, and started out in May 2004 (retired) and are still going .. although last year did take a few months off to travel East to Virginia/Pennsylvania, etc. to see friends/family .. this we knew would be our last cross-country trip. We already took our 2-years Cross Country trip 6 years ago ... seeing America as only us RV'ers can ... stopping where we wanted to and staying long as possible.
Sharing all this as we are in our "later years" and mostly staying in Washington and Oregon ... and letting you all that we don't miss the care, treatment, work of a large yard/house to maintain.
We are looking at options for next year ... although having a volunteer spot in Oregon for 5 months of Fall/Winter, traveling for a month, then coming "home" to an rv park located where daughters live in the area for 5-6 Spring/Summer months has worked for us these past few years.
Still looking at options for 2017 ... may park it at an rv park which includes a private 35 ft by 20 ft. grassy yard along with rv spot.
And could still go to a Southern area for Dec thru Feb. as Hubby doesn't like the cold winter anymore ... just adding this last part as we told ourselves that in Feb. 2017 we will decide our next step ... although "age" is creeping up on us.
Disagree with others who say to have a Plan ... we just launched and our doctor said after we had full-timed for three years that our health improved, so that was a good sign for us. We have taken Life as it rolled out for us ... we did go to a 3/4 ton rig which actually saved us gas mileage costs when towing ...
Well, best hush .. but wanted to share our Life these past years, sure there have been ups and downs, but the flexibility of this Life is what has been GREAT !
