Rookie Rver :C here! I am in the process of doing the same. I am 54, and my wife is 52. Kids are all "growd up" and gone on their own. I'm retired Coast Guard after honorably serving 23 yrs (yes, retired young at 42). Yes we have the house, big yard, and big bills to go with it. I watch a lot of outdoor shows (BigTime RV, Going RV, RV 2015, Tiny House Nation, Aerial America, Great National Parks, Made in America, RV Today, etc.) and I got the fever! One day I began putting it all down on paper and for me (may not be for everyone) seeing on paper how much money I'm spending living current life-style didn't make sense. Slowly I am "growing small". Decisions that are made now are based on "want" or "need". This activity has shown how much money "IS" available to live the "On The Road" life-style.
Fast forward.........long story short........each trip we take gets longer and longer. But most of all my wife is liking the idea more and more after every trip. The Dream Is Alive........
