Tips for loading up the new RV please

We pick up our new (to us) 2008 Tioga Ranger 25G Wednesday afternoon. Plan is to be out of the rental house by August 1. Dd & SIL are taking most of the big stuff. Selling the rest to a couple of friends send online (I'm 10 minutes from the recent big tornados in Vilonia, AR). So selling off should not be hard. I'm selling cheap and donating the rest.

It is just DH and I. Plus 2 yo grand daughter visiting regular. We will be living in a local campground as DH is still working and I have several health issues that keep us here. I will be going to the DD each day to keep the grand daughter, some days she will come to me so we can hang out at the playground. We have just always wanted this lifestyle. Love the campground, no yard work, 10 min from family, 5 min from work. And half the cost of renting!

I know from years of following RV Forums to watch my weight and not over load. We are really downsizing. I'm looking for tips on storage, creative ideas for where to put things etc. btw, I don't have under the bed storage :(

  • Your basic needs will be clothing, bathroom supplies, and kitchen stuff. Then tools. Then entertainment/hobbies.

Keep your pantry small. I am still training myself on that one. I've always had 3-4 month supply of food on hand. Stores are plentiful. The Europeans tend to shop for food the day the day they are going to eat it. I don't think I am ready for that but have cut way back on my pantry requirements.

After a few months you will find out what cooking supplies you are not using. Get rid of them. I got rid of my pots and pans because I tend to cook in my electric pot, electric skillet, convection microwave, and slow cooker.

You don't need all those clothes. I keep reducing my closet but still have more than I use. One of these days I'll get it right. Since he is still working, hubby will need more closet space.

Not any creative ideas on storage here as I'm not familiar with your unit. Just the common sense ones on limiting the amount of stuff.

One thing. Take a look at your cabinets. Could some use shelves to double your storage space? Have hubby install some for you.
