- Jayco-noslideExplorerI don't have an answer. I am 71, think about it, but really 10 yrs ago would have been a better time. I'm "healthy" yet have an artificial heart valve and pacemaker and concern about medical needs would be one of my doubts. We own a home and possibly full-timing for a few years might be a good way to transition into an apartment. I think it might have been better back when we felt more inclined to workamp quite a bit.
- murphy38ExplorerIf you are in good health and have the finances age is just a number. Enjoy life while you can, sure there may come a time that is not possible and you will know when that time comes. My only regret is that we did not start sooner.
- raindoveExplorerAs long as you can safely drive the RV, go for it and make all the memories you can. I see far too many people putting off things and wake up one day and it's too late.
DH's dad wanted to do a lot -- passed in his early 60's and never did any of it. My mom is sitting alone being bitter about my dad passing and they also put things off and never did them. - Golden_HVACExplorerMy buddy bought his latest Country Coach new in 1998 when he was in his upper 60's. Now in his 80's he used me as the driver on a couple of trips. I think in his case, driving at 84 with brain cancer was out of the question. He still owns the RV and goes out there every once in a while to recall the happy memories of driving it while younger.
He also has pictures of his older RV's on the walls. He used to have a 1984 and 1990 Elite. The Elite burnt up while in PA, he barely had time to disconnect his Bronco and drove it home.
Might as well take the time to RV now, not start at 80. I might suggest a smaller class C, or something. They handle well, and are only a little larger than a 1975 Station Wagon!
Have fun camping!
Fred. - qtla9111NomadSounds like a beginning to me.
- bsinmichExplorerTo be 73 again I would have to have a few negative birthdays. I am taking the MH to Holland Motor Homes today for a little work that I can't do myself anymore. I will be using it soon again.

- Dog_FolksExplorerLet's see......
How old will you be in 5 years if you start RVing?
How old will you be in 5 years if you don't start RVing?
Go for it. - Peg_LegExplorerI started RVing at 97, at least that the number of ring I counted on my 1st wooden leg before they started whittling it to fit me. At 65 the DW and I swapped out the axles on our 5er. At 67 a couple of weeks ago I had to slice into the under skin to access a pin on the spare tire winch on I-75. At present I have no plans to change and 73 doesn't look that far away. You've got the bug so it's time to scratch the itch.
- AridonExplorerSome are ready for the grave at 65 and others can run circles around 30 year olds. Age is just a number and if you're in good shape you should live your life and not worry about the number.
