Were you excited then? Still excited now?

We are youngins and planned on doing this for 1-1.5 years then settling down and starting a family. 4 years later we went ahead and started a family while travelling. 42 states and some of the most amazing experiences of our lives. When we do go back "home" and meet with friends the conversation always starts what have you been up to. Them - not much just working and going to the movies vs, Us - where shall we start :)

We love the lifestyle and are blessed to be able to live it.

Work harrassed me into coming back full time for a couple years (a good thing, they offered money, interesting projects and we wanted to save up for overseas travel anyway).

I had to work across the state for a month and we couldn't wait to hook up and be on our way. The same scenery day after day just kills us now.

We're working on lining up next summer, fall and winter volunteer positions. Decisions, decisions! We're getting good at this!

5 1/2 years and loving it, the only regret is not doing it sooner.

We have been full-timing for about 4years ... love it. It continues to be more fun than I had thought

After many years of power RV driving and having to drive thru bad weather etc. on the weekends because you only had 2 days to get there have fun and get back to work on Monday.....I too enjoyed that first time full timing when the weather turned bad and I realized that I could just pull over to the first CG and sit and stay until it blew over. :C

Although we have now become snow birds, we loved the lifestyle and have absolutely no regrets about our eleven years of full timing.
But times and things change and it was time for us to move on.

I still remember (with great fondness) the morning a few weeks after we hit the road and we woke up in Russell KN right off I70 in an ice storm with ice everywhere including I70 and realizing I didn't have to drive in that crud. That was when I became a true full timer. We stayed right there for three days until we ready to go on.

We've been stationary in many locations, 10 yrs in one, 19 yrs in another. But as our life changes, so does our wants and desires. We prefer not being tied to one area, 4 walls and a yard. We're still waiting for retirement, but this is a great way to pass the time until then.
