71 days and waiting for repair

Wait till he see's how long it will be in the repair/body shop, might not be RVing this spring that's for sure.

Little late reading this but is it the responsibility of the insured to get estimates? What are claims adjusters for?

Would you want to accept amount offered from the adjuster? Not I. I would want a estimate from the repair shop I feel comfortable doing the work. At least that was the way we did it when I was in the P&C business.

I am still a newbie so help me if I'm wrong here or in the wrong place but this really caught my eye because I became a Good Sam member when I bought my Class C motorhome last summer and in those initial registrations was transferred to what I thought was GS insurance which is National General Ins. NGIC (formerally GMAC).
From an accident on Nov 5th, it was towed to the local dealer- referred repair shop for damage to the front of the coach not the vehicle.
It is now 97 days with nothing but repeated roadblocks and a push for things that I think are completely inappropriate in a motorhome, like "just go to Lowe's and pick up some cabinets" "it doesn't matter if the color doesn't match" sending a front end that is for a trailer NOT a motorhome then refusing to take it back or cover $900 shipping" It seems to me so so wrong! Has anyone else had these issues???

Call your state insurance commissioner. You will get results.

Been there done that. Brought my coach in and almost three months later I got it back with one molding broken. two scratches one on either side of the coach about 20 feet long. They also gouged the front mask. The also did not do all the work that was on the work order and their former service manager was a first class ass. Went on my trip brought it back to repair what they did not do the first time, they had some young person use a buffer to buff out the scratches instead he burned through the Gel coat and left huge swirl marks. Made an appointment for January 4th this has been going on since August 2015, this time they did not install the kitchen faucet that had ordered but they ordered the wrong one and they had the correct part number yet they still ordered the wrong one. I had asked them to fill the propane tank which they said they did, the did not fill it, when on the bill it says it was filled.. The best person there is Mike Hulsey and if it was not for him I would have gone nuts, They over book never deliver on time and do not perform the work on the work orders.
I now avoid them as there are several other RV shops here in Vegas that I have used and they are 5 star, but for warranty work Winnebago has only 2 other dealers here in Las Vegas that Winnebago has approved to do there warranty work, I am still waiting for the side molding to come in and it is going to take another 2 weeks to paint 2 side moldings. so in a year they have had my coach close to 5 months and it still is not finished. Like I said if it were not for Mike Hulsey the service writer who stuck up for me and told the now former service manager that the coach did not have any of these scratches on them I always take pictures before I drop the coach off, they also did not fix the star cracks on the engine cover, this will be my last trip to Camping World once they finish the moldings. They perform poor work and fail to complete what was on the work order. At least they fired or he quit the service manger Ray.

Sounds exactly like the service we got from the Madison, WI Camping World. I sure wish we had know about these forums before we purchased our motothome from them. They had it 5 months out of the first year we owned it and never did fix the problems. We got approval from Thor to get it out of there and take it to a local dealer. They did all the work in less than 2 weeks and everything was fixed properly. We caught Camping World in a number of lies. Said they had ordered parts that had never been ordered, said approval was denied for repairs and found out they had never contacted Thor for approval. If they don't feel like fixing something they just put it off and hope you get tired and go away. Well, we did and we'll never be back. Camping World will never see another penny of our hard earned money.

Well to follow up to some of the statements and questions asked. My camper has been sitting up in the parking lot of Camping world for months. The insurance company sold to me through good sam, National general has been a big problem. I have gone up to the camper 3 times to take pictures for the insurance company, an 80 mile round trip. Then they send there own people to take pictures and weeks later they approve the repairs. This should have been done in November not end of February. Camper waits to get into body shop. it is now back and I think a 6yo did some of the work you can see where it was not sanded flush. The work is not complete "waiting on parts." But if I pay the deductible I can take my camper and use it if I need to. Oh yea the Insurance bill has been closed out and the deductible has been moved to another work order that I was having done while my camper was up there a 2 hour job. I have made lots of calls to the insurance company and its like a dog chasing his tail. If I had a phone number or e mail address to some one who can get things done that would be nice.
