A JOKE on us!
Don't believe a word about their insurance pitch. I hope you never have a need for it but if you do, they will wiggle and squirm and eventually reject your claim.
After speaking at least three times a day for many days, to various agents, all whom were able to pull-up our file, extend their condolences over our issues, recommend GOOD SAM pre approved repair shops, and so, we went to their recommended shop in Canton, TX and had all work done to get us home. The repair shop also spoke various times to Good Sam as work was being done.
As we were on our way home to California, we arrived in Abilene to a phone call from the repair shop that Good Sam had REJECTED all payment on the extended policy we purchased. SEND US CASH NOW!!!!
GOOD SAM - bad bad bad business practices. We just happened to be grieving that particular first week following a close family death and this was grief on top of grief! You never know what's happening in a persons life.
HERE is our very brief story (Good Sam was called five minutes following the incident and multiple times thereafter):
On Sunday August 28th, 2016, we were traveling west on the I20 near Terrell Texas. We noticed smoke in our 2005 Country Coach cabin and all of a sudden we lost all power and instruments.
My husband fought the coach which was dead with no power steering off the first exit where he promptly hit a wood and metal guard rail striking the drivers side coach.
We waited for 5 hours before a tow truck took us to Bluebonnet RV Park at the very same exit, a miracle that it was there!
We were referred to CANTON TRUCK AND AUTO REPAIR in Canton Texas 20 miles behind us. The same Fuller Towing truck (only tow with wheel lift) hauled us to Canton repair Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 where they started to make repairs again, after many calls with Good Sam!
On examination of the coach by DOUG'S DIESEL who works out of Canton Auto, diagnosed the following:
The exhaust pipe loosened blowing all fumes at approx 400 degrees of heat into coach cabin, engine compartment & battery compartment. The intense heat promptly melted all wiring, relays and hydraulic lines, which could have caused a fire. We were not moving until Canton Truck Repair/Doug's Diesel got us going. Due to timing to return home, GOOD SAM left the repair ticket open so that hydraulic lines could be finished in California, which turned out to be another lie.
The GOOD SAM EXTENDED INSURANCE POLICY is a joke. It's expensive, it's useless.
We sure don't want to add to our expenses but at $16,000, it's time to turn this all over to our attorney now
