Let me first say I understand campgrounds need to offset rising costs.It would be helpful if the utility, pedestal,electric, resort...fees were included in the "Trip Points" instead of trying to determine what additional charges there are at each campground. Sometimes the fees are almost the same as the points.

"Trip Points" is a new term to me. Define.

C2C trip points are for basic site which is all C2C has control over.Each campground is an independent business and therefore can charge/up charge as they wish.When checking out C2C affiliate CGs 'additional' costs are noted.Paying $10/15 night for basic camp site is hard to beat.Pretty inexpensive.....even with extra charges.Especially when you consider that you couldn't even stay at majority of the CGs without high priced membership.

I don't know what "trip points" are either.But I do know that there is a huge rising trend in American business to advertise and quote an unrealistically low price for something, that then calls for large numbers of add-ons with abundant surcharges for this and that, all of which are inescapable, and all of which are essential to the worthiness of the original purchase item.It's like buying a car and discovering that wheels are extra. So is an engine. And if you want a steering wheel . . . .

Trip points are a 'payment system' used by Coast To Coast (C2C) for private campground site use.As a C2C member you make a reservation at a private campground......campground charges you 1000--1500 trip points per night for basic site.As a C2C member you purchase trip points to be used for private campground nightly fees. $10 equals 1000 trip pointsIf you purchase larger quantities you can get some bonus trip points.The private CGs allow affiliate memberships to use their CGs.Affiliates are C2C, AOR, RPI, ROD etc. that can be joined AFTER having a membership in a 'home park' (private CG). We purchased a 'home park' with C2C affiliation for $950 total.Then paid yrly dues to maintain home park and C2C memberships.Used home park and C2C during our 7 yrs of FT travel. Made nightly site fees very reasonable. Just ONE of the ways to control/lower living expenses.

We have a 40 foot and find most parks will handle this.

You need to buy into a campground that is also C2C.
Campground memberships vary in price and yearly dues.
We chose one that we actually wanted to stay at.
Some people buy into the cheapest one and never see it.

We have a Premier C2C membership which differs quite a bit
from the regular ones. Make sure you choose the right one
for you.
There are many "plans" out there, C2C, RPI, CRA, etc.
Look into them and carefully choose.

I ran across one GNP park that added $5 per night for Utilities...and then $5 for electricity...and then $5 for amenities. Go figure.

I think I would probably just tell em there over priced. That's pretty much regular rate.

any way to find out the cost of a campground membership short of calling each one.

I talked with one resort in GA that was denoted as a deluxe campground, not sure what that means, and they were at $595 which included membership in CG and C2C (classic) all first year fees. The ongoing fees were $99.50 for CG (included 7 free night at home CG) and $99 for C2C.

there is the 125 miles rule on classic memberships as well..

so what is the play on determining the best CG to join knowing we will be full time and not in the "home CG" area much.
