Well it seems like GS is the way to go. I actually have all three now. Probably will let Coach-Net expire. Will keep basic AAA because there is an office close and I use them for theme park tickets, occasional city maps and other travel. I had a bad experience with AAA in Ruidoso, New Mexico a few years back with our Class C. Called AAA and waited and waited. After about an hour I called back only to find out that they dispatched a tow truck out of Ruidoso, Texas. They did not have coverage in New Mexico. Even though I had specifically said that I was in New Mexico. A National Forest Service work crew finally called a tow truck for us. Also, in reading the fine print, AAA will not cover tow out of our SE USA service area. Thanks for all of the replies!
AAA - across the country is *not* the same as your "local" AAA.
Some areas of the country simply have no coverage.
Which ERS?
Whether it's GS or CN - chances are, you will get the same tow operator in the area of your breakdown.
ALL the ERS plans are underwritten by two or three major providers
(including GS and CN).
So - better results with one or the other - depend on the contracting tow service - and the guy driving the tow truck.
There *are* other options, for example:
American Motorcyclists Association offers ERS with membership which will do all the same things as any of the others - including towing RVs & trailers. It is via a national company (the others are also) - but limited to 35 mile tow.
Cost = $45. a year (doesn't matter if you have an MC or not).
IMO - my choice over GS or CN is US Rider. - intended for the many equestrians with *very* expensive cargo.
Don't have any hay burners - but doesn't matter.
Covers all your vehicles, and trailers - no matter what kind.
Compare their coverage..;)
