I can attest that Good Sam Insurance underwriter company National General is a "Gotcha" company and is in jeopardy of "Insurance Redlining" becuase of the location I am having my RV stored (another town other than my hometown). What's worse is the location is at Camping World, the very location where we purchased our RV and where we "sold" the Good Sam insurance policy following a "free" Good Sam Elite Membership with purchase. So Camping World being a Premiere Business partner of The Good Sam Club is affiliated with an underwriter (National General) who PROHIBITS your RV to be stored at Camping World.
All of the above occurred when I called and spoke with a National General representative and advised her that we wanted to put our Policy in "Storage Status". The National General rep then advised me that the savings would only be $21, so I decided to keep the full coverage in place and not use the Storage status option while our RV was at Camping World. That was the end of the conversation... 3 Business days later I get a "Gotcha Letter" advising "NON-RENEWAL" for violating the terms of the insurance agreement by having the unit stored at Camping World. "WHAT?!" Was my reaction. Besides being completely ridiculous, not once did the representative say a word to me about this during our entire telephone conversion.
I have since brought this to the attention of Good Sam's Rapid Response unit for it to be escalated to management for review. In the meantime be aware that this company has demonstrated they will gladly collect your cash, but will use every GOTCHA tactic to sack their clients. AVOID NATIONAL GENERAL and Shame on Good Sam Club for allowing this company to treat it's members in this manner.
Regarding the illegal Redlining tactic being used by National General, I plan to contact my State's Attorney General office and report them if this isn't resolved by May 31st, 2017.
