Blue Sky insurance?
Hi folks! NewB here, probable 5th wheel owner sometime soon ( but that is another story) and have a few questions for anyone who may have Blue Sky insurance on their RV through GS.
They just screwed me over on a policy by cancelling it because we did not get to take possession of our 5th wheel purchase on the date that we originally thought, due to gross CW dealer error of not locking our unit up in the rear service lot after a deposit was made and instead leaving it out for sale on the front lot where it was subsequently damaged by something/someone. I had called them for the 2nd time to, PLEASE, could you get the VIN number right on the unit, after they failed to do so twice, and subsequent conversation is when they informed me they would cancel the policy, minus a nice little $20 honorarium for themselves, since we were unable to even take possession of the unit. And, by the way, the original agent that I spoke with told me nothing about any cancellation fees, instead, if we didn't take possession on such and such date, NO PROBLEM, just call us back and we can change the effective date, blahblah...
I argued with 2 different Blue Sky reps on the phone before demanding THEIR boss, whereas, they transferred me back to a GS rep who finally informed me that she was NOT with Blue Sky, but with GS. So, they are charging me a $20 cancellation fee when it was THEM who cancelled the policy, not me. When I attempted to explain to them that the reason that we didn't take possession of the unit was because it was damaged on their lot and now is STILL waiting to go to the body shop for repairs, they couldn't care less.
Somebody tell me how that it is even fair? Now, I have read, albeit older threads, on another RV forum board, that Blue Sky seems to be a great company to work with with respect to filing claims and having things go smoothly. As of this writing, we are still awaiting the unit to be repaired so that we can formally purchase the 2013, used, unit. I am debating on even calling Blue Sky back for insurance, since their agents can't seem to be on the same page and then are extremely rude when asking questions.
Anyone with better advice sure would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
