C2C Shenandoah Crossing

We are C2C and TRA Premier Members. Lots of up front monies here which I'm not too sure about. We were promised that we could stay at C2C Resorts for FREE.
Since upgrading we have had several parks find loopholes in their services. At Shenandoah Crossing they do have FREE sites for C2C members, but they are in the WILDERNESS area and if you have a CDL license you may be able to get your 40' 5th wheel in the sites, which are on cliffs.
We had to pay $20/night to get the Executive Site. For $15/night we were supposed to get the Deluxe Site, but on the C2C website all the Deluxe Sites are taken ALL YEAR LONG. They are all just trying to figure out how not to give C2C members Free Sites. Some of the others charge extra based on location then charge for Cable, Electric, etc, etc, so................maybe it was not a good idea to be a Premier Member.......My task this year is to find a way around the loopholes.............ANY IDEAS?

Sounds to me like you got mislead by the TRA rep. We are also TRA members, and I know the organization recently upgraded its membership package, but I have never heard where you can get C2C camping for free. It is written that way in your TRA contract? C2C itself advertizes the base $15 per night fee, paid of course with trip points. I would be interested in hearing how this issue gets resolved.

For RV,net, thanks for establishing the C2C forum. Great to have a designated forum to discuss C2C issues, benefits, and member campgrounds.
  • I have stayed aty Shenandoah Crossing many times for $15.00. I never thought it would be free! My understanding is C2C rates are cheap but not free!
  • I've stayed at Shenandoah Crossing a couple of times. Their listing on the C2C site says this:

Deluxe RV Site, 1500 Points <---- Back in?
Deluxe RV Site, 2000 Points <---- Pull through?
Elite RV Site, 2000 Points <----- I can't recall what differentiates this one.
Elite RV Site, 2500 Points <----- I think this is the one with the hot tub.

This is confusing, as it apparently lists the lowest tier for two different prices. Ditto for the upper tier.

SC has a rather unique setup, different from other places that I've stayed via C2C. I don't think the higher end tiers have ever been available to C2C members. I suspect that there's no requirement that they be available, even though they are priced out.

They used to have a very old and very tight camping section. I cannot recall if that section is still there. Since I first stayed there in 2002, they have built an entirely new camping section, most with concrete pads, grills and furniture ($20/night and up I think). Every time I've stayed there since, I've reserved a basic pull through site.

The first one of those I stayed in was nice and well-maintained, though surprisingly unlevel for a concrete pad. The second one had a broken off sewer connector left in it from the previous guest. I reported it and maintenance was there within an hour to remove it so I could use my sewer connection.

From what I have seen, Shenandoah Crossing has met both the letter and spirit of the C2C agreement for hosting C2C members when I have stayed there. Every campground is going to hold back better sites and other perks for its direct membership and block out holidays. When I look at the 2 month availability calendar on the C2C website, I see availability for deluxe sites on both weekdays and non-holiday weekends.
  • To Greyhound Gaggle:

I just wanted to thank you for your input on Shenandoah Crossing. I know you spoke yesterday to Eileen McKee, our National Sales Director, and that you are all set for your stay at Shenandoah Crossing. Based on your inquiry, Eileen called Shenandoah Crossing and was able to secure a good deal more site inventory for Coast to Coast members. So this is something that will benefit all our members. So thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Happy Trails!
