camper world---good sam

on 11th of june, on our way home from florida, i stopped a roadside res outside of ST Augustine. while there i was walking the dog and checking out my tt for any possible problem. i soon discover i have a tire that is in need of changing. having purchased road assistance from camping world, i limped to their nearest store. tried to buy a new tire. well they didn't have one in the size i needed. so i showed them my good sam card and asked that they put on my spare. i could have done it, but being 70 years old and having purchased the assistance, why not use it? well camping world told me they didn't honor good sam. i could call for a service from good sam or pay them to change it!! calling for service they said it would be sometime in the afternoon, it was 8 am. well $81 dollars and 2 hrs later i was on the road. camping world said good sam SHOULD reimburse me.
time will tell.

    We've used them twice and we could not be happier, until something changes I won't be switching...(we did that after unsatisfactory response from AAA)

  • I've been a member for 25+ years and only needed them twice, including this one. Traveling on 27 June 2018, I-24 just on TN/KY line, pulled in to the rest/welcome area. Checked TT hubs, one very hot. Lost dust cap and threw all grease out. Called GS ERS for a roadside repair tech, and stated my problem. They asked if I needed a tow, I said that wouldn't help and that I needed a mechanic with parts. After a while they called back and told me nobody was available for 50 miles and to call back next morning a 6am to try again. After some research, found Auto Zone in Clarksville, TN open, Kim answered, she did not have the bearing but knew a local guy that could take a look. Luis was there in 30 minutes, went to locate the parts (on a sunday/holiday wkend) back in a couple of hours, made the repair and sent me on my way. He would not take more than $100 including parts. Must mention I called Auto Zone regional supver and asked, she (Kim) be highly rewarded for going well above and beyond. Of course, I thanked her tall and told her what I did. Today, I called GS back after calling last week and got nowhere, I think I don't need them or any other company. We have Google
  • We had GS roadside and found out that they only tow to there chosen repair places. I had a trusted repair center that I had used before, but they wouldn’t tow there. I called AAA and they said no-problem with any service center I wanted. So we switched to AAA plus-RV. I haven’t used it yet (and hope I never have to) but now I’m towed to where I want to go.

  • You should use capitol letters too - just saying.
    Consider doing a little research here and elsewhere on the web. You will quickly see that GS is not a particularly good road-side assistance plan and often leaves people sitting. That being said, they will probably reimburse you after your post here.
