Camping World no longer supports Good Sam membership

It has been my pleasure to be a charter member of Good Sam. Then the Good Sam club was taken over by Camping World. Since that time I have had to almost experience verbal altercations to receive the discounts I was due as a member of the club. I have been told: Charter members need to renew their memberships. Marcus you sent me a Lifetime Membership card and have been told numerous times that it was either invalid or needed to be renewed.
TODAY WAS UNBELIEVEABLE: Went to a Camping World in Chicago and noticed that there was a few member price stickers around the store. Most everything had one price. I was told this is a "one price store." Was also told "Good Sam is no longer valid at Camping World" as well as "shop on line and you might get a Good Sam Discount."
Why are you screwing us? One person said "you now get points for your purchases and after you spend $1000 you get ten dollars back." I asked how long the points last and was told 6 months."
Get a life, YOU ARE REALLY DRIVING AWAY CUSTOMERS! You do not care about your customers.

I give whose does it mean?

First does lifetime in this scenario mean his lifetime or the lifetime of Good Sam?

Also consider those incarcerated for life who are subsequently released.
  • Hello Campforever,

Thank you for your time and post. We apologize for the experience you have had with your membership and the Camping World location in Chicago.
Please allow us to look into this matter further.

    Have a good day.
    Thank you,
    Good Sam Customer Care Team
  • Well just about everything changes over a long period of time for good or worse. IOWs nothing stays the same forever.

I have been a member of USAA since 1970 and received good service at reasonable prices all those years but I would not be surprised if tomorrow a change took place for the worse for me.

Even tho I have a very high credit score and generous savings in bank accounts with no debts or mortgages they turned me down for a loan on late model Ram 1500, so I simply got a loan from the Mechanics Bank of California at a very good rate because of my CS. I will still stay with USAA because of their cheap auto insurance rate but no feeling of loyalty anymore and I will not recommend the AOs to anyone now.

Very happy with Bank of the West and Mechanics Bank.

Many years ago I bought a TT from Camping World in Texas with good price and after service such a PDI, etc. Also, member of GS then with great satisfaction. But that was about 17 years ago. I stop buying lifetime memberships many decades ago as I learned a lesson then. Cheers from The Hot Spot.
  • Haven’t been in a CW since they screwed up an air conditioner install over 10 years ago. No apology. No thank you for your patience. No sorry for the extra 70 mile round trip for 2nd visit to correct the tech incompetence of 1st visit. Just “here’s your bill”.
  • You can get things cheaper and with much less frustration online.
The only thing I’ve found them good for is if you want something that day, or it’s raining and your board and want to look around.

  • Good Sam and Camping World has been going downhill for several years.
Maybe they should start buying back our Lifetime memberships!
