Can I let our membership expire..and join again later ?

So our Platinum plan expires in a couple of weeks. We won't go on the road with our Class A for about 6 months.

I asked a rep about letting our plan expire....and signing up as a new member for $114.95 in lieu of $149.95 now. The answer was NO...There has to be a 24 month lapse before I can be a "new member".

Sound right ?

  • It's pretty much that with with everything. If you are a new member you get a bit lower rate. Once you've passed that initial period rates go up. Two years sounds about right for "industry standard."

When we had DirectTV and decided to switch to DishTV so we could get lower rates for being a new member, the service install guy told us to stay with DishTV for 2 years then switch back to DirectTV. You'll be a new member for one year, then have to pay the higher price. You have to drop out at least 2 years to come back as a new member again. He said, keep switching back and forth every two years, that's the best you can get.

After our 2 year contract with DishTV, we finally dropped them all and never went back. We got tired of price gouging and constant raising prices. We just do over-the-air television now and a $10 a month for Netflix.

So, the 2 year, 24 month wait period sounds about right! Their again, their company, their rules!
