Geico states that towing claims are not reported to Choice Point. The only way it would affect your rates is if they determined a pattern of abuse.
It's your call, of course.
guidry's experience may not be typical, but it is worth noting.
Good Sam Roadside doesn't care about patterns of abuse (officially?), and if they did, it doesn't affect my vehicle insurance, only my GSR account. - MURPHY55347ExplorerGeico states that towing claims are not reported to Choice Point. - MerrykaliaExplorer IIWe have let ours expire and been over a year and we are still considered as renewing. We finally switched to Coachnet with our fiver. We are covered on our other vehicles with our insurance.

What about adding roadside assistance through your rv insurance company? Ours costs $40.00 through Geico.
Because if you use the roadside assistance, it is still counted as a "incident" when trying to get quotes from other insurance companies for coverage. It happened to me just this year. Agent suggested to use a separate roadside company for roadside only. - jerryjay11Explorer

You don't need to be RVing with GS either. - MDKMDKExplorer

Am in the process of switching insurance companies, and inquired about that. They said they had discontinued their roadside assistance because of lack of interest. I asked at a prior company, and after comparing the two, Good Sam was cheaper and had better coverage and options.
The other issue with roadside assistance from an insurer, as some others mentioned on another thread/forum, is that a call for assistance is counted as a claim on your policy, and could increase your rates. I can't confirm this statement. - LwiddisNomad II“and signing up as a new member for...”
The restrictions are very common. I’m surprised you were...surprised. - K_CharlesExplorerWe don't use good Sam roadside, we use another, but you don't need to be RVing to use it.

Honestly, with the unlimited towing to the nearest qualified and willing service center, it's hard to beat the price. I think compared to the alternatives, they have the best overall service. I've used it for everything from towing RVs, to dead battery boosts in non-RVs and they've always been prompt and efficient, and the independent service provider (tow truck dudes) have been the same. No questions asked.
