Canadian benefits

One has to remember that the Canadian market is a blip on the screen to CW with huge geography and a relatively low population. The population and economy of California for example alone exceeds all of Canada. I would think that CW does not see Canada as a viable market particularly when there is only a 5-6 month RV season.

UPS is very very expensive for any shipping to Canada. USPS works very well. It would be great is CW could get arrangements made with USPS for shipping to Canada. Other companies do that.

Exchange rate isnt the problem, the ups vaseline is the issue. a $40 item will costn $25! for shipping and $60 in brokerage fees when shipped.

I wouldn't worry too much about the cross border shopping since the exchange rate for the Canadian dollar is now below .92 Can./U.S.This always slows it down.

Yes, get a US post office box. Which province do you live in? I am sure somebody here can name a retail outlet in the States that will receive parcels. Our brother lives in New Brunswick and there is a store just over the border at Calais Maine. I think it is called Mardens. I know there are stores in Port Huron Michigan that will do the same.

What "benefits" don't you get other than the free shipping?

Because we are in a different country. It costs them to prepare all the documentation, many U.S. suppliers won't do it, and Canadian freight rates are higher. Welcome to my world, I work in wholesale distribution. If you live near the border, obtain a U.S. postal box and pick it up there, many people do this.
The neighbor has a box in Point Roberts WA. any freight must come through Canada to reach it yet it is treated as a normal point of entry.:R
