This is unfortunately typical of most any insurance policy.
This year my homeowners tried to cancel me. They sent an inspector around the day after some nasty winds. They took a picture of a couple lifted shingles, called it a "buckled or collapsing" damaged roof and sent me a notice of non-renewal, not a notice to repair, but non-renewal. I have had homeowners with this company for 14 years with not one claim. I had to make the repairs take tons of pictures and file an appeal. A month ago a burglar broke in an took mainly jewelry, ins. agent said not much point in making a claim, we would not get much, rates would go up erasing everything we would get, and if we had another claim in the span of 10 years we would get canceled.
Same company I have canceled my dad after 2 minor homeowners claims in 4 years.
It does not say anywhere in their literature any limits other than they can choose to not renew. It really is a racket.
