Roadside Assistance Canceled

You have to be careful using Good Sam's Roadside assistance. I've had it for at least 6 years and was cancelled this month. A tire change in 2009, 2 lockout in 2014 and one in 2015 and a 5 mile tow to the transmission shop last month.

Don't bother sending this to anyone. There are other roadside assistance programs.

  • Check with your insurance...a lot of times, they cover roadside.... 3 lockouts and a tow does sound like a good bit for a 1-2 yr period.
  • Extra set of keys for 'everything' should be placed/hidden somewhere on every vehicle. MH's have a perfect spot for that magnetic box. Just saying.
  • If a vehicle has power door locks it can be fitted with a key pad eliminating the problem of a lock out. Key pads can also be installed on the doors of an RV.
  • I don't know what GS considers excessive but 3 lockouts seems like a lot to me.

They did you a favor. Just get Coach-Net!

Yeah, well $159 in order to cover all vehicles? Doesn't sound too good

Although I totally agree with you on GS cancelling people like hot cakes recently......

I would not have used a roadside emergency plan for being locked out of your RV, let alone '3' of them! I think you may have shot yourself in the foot with that.

Did lockout mean not having your keys?
  • No problem changing to another Co. unless one of the underwriting questions ask by the new Co. is, have you ever been declined, cancelled, or non-renewed by any Co. If so, they may not take you. When I wrote P&C Ins. for many years, many people would come to us after they had been cancelled by another Co. We would refuse to Insure them also.
  • It's called cutting their loses. Similar to a car insurance raising their rates after someone has an accident.
  • Hello wslawton,

I'm sorry to hear this. If you would like us to look into this we would be happy to. Please just send us a private message with your best contact information. Again, my apologies and take care.
