So you are asserting that the road service membership fee is pure profit of $2.6+ million per year for the company? Why? They have to pay road service providers, phone operators, and all the other operating costs out of those $70 fees before they hopefully make a net profit.
It's a service at a fee - people are free to sign up and pay for it, sign up elsewhere. or decide to self-insure their own road service costs, right? If for some reason you think it's "Greed writ large," you happily don't have to purchase it.
I didnt say anything about profit. My number was income. But it is a huge number especially if you consider that they have very little overhead or assets to pay for with this money. The Road Service is provided by other companies contracted to do it. It is they that must pay the larger overhead costs.
This kind of service is a great way to put cash to the bottom line with very little exposure to risk and few expenses. It's a business no-brainer.
Yet another business you can run better than the people that actually own and run them. In what world is gross revenue equated to income? I don't understand why you haven't started a roadside assistance company. You can obviously charge less than the other companies do, since you will have all that "income". There is no overhead because others are paying for that and obviously not passing those costs on to you. Like you said, it is a "business no brainer" So what's the hold up? Do you have no brain?
