seems kinda high to me plus we have our two cars insured.

Seems cheap to me, but then I don't know what type of unit you have, what coverages you selected, how many miles you will be driving. Less than $3 a day for insurance for a large vehicle running down the road seems like a bargain. My homeowners insurance is about that and the house doesn't move (hopefully)
