Dealership stuck me again

Dealers continue to earn their reputations as money grabbing scum. This time I put $1,000 down on an Adventurer. Camping World was all nice-nice in treating me. During the next three days while I was getting my financing in order, I contacted my salesman each day to explain how theprocesswas going. This all occurred from Friday to Sunday. Monday I called to finalize and set up a walk-through and delivery date. What was I told? The Adventurer had been sold!

I shall NEVER deal with any Camping World store again for anything! Daily needs can be better met at Walmart. My Good Sam membership expires soon and it will not be renewed.

It takes self confidence and a strong work ethic to do so.

Right or wrong you have to admire Marcus for doing so.

I agree with this. You just don't see CEO's from large outfits getting directly involved like this. We sometimes lose sight of just how big his job was coming in to turn this business around on the service side. It is not easy and it will not happen fast but his direct involvement will make a difference in the long run. I suspect his participation here is two fold. One is to help folks like this and two to get first hand knowledge of what is really going on in the field. CEO's often are insulated from what really goes on at the ground level.
  • great service from the marcus crew ,they,ll find out what happened and why. good job crew. the people in the back round who do all the digging deserve a thank you. and maybe marcus could by them lunch.

First of all if there was a deposit this should have never happened.
I will do what it takes to make this right including giving you a large discount on a unit.
Email me directly and I will get this resolved. Mlemonis@campingworld.com

To the OP. Can't get any better or quicker answer than that. Give Marcus a chance to make it right. Please report back, NOT WITH THE AMOUNT OF DISCOUNT, as that should be between you and Marcus, but report back and let us know if he made it right.

    Remember mistakes can happen.

For the record, I have NEVER bought a unit from Camping World, only the occasional trinket or unique item I can't find anywhere else. I have made sure I included them in my research though, if for no other reason than the response you get on these boards when you have a problem.

  • I'm guessing you filled out some type of paperwork when you paid your $1000. Was there a penalty clause if either party defaulted on the contract?
  • IF YOU HAD A WRITTEN contract?? read it good then contact the marcus complaint debt. don,t no how they could sell it if you were in contract.
