Good advise.. It seem with like the deluxe package you are limited to resorts outside of a 125 mile area from your "home resort", not so with the premier package or less miles, if i understand the rules correctly.
So i guess you need to determine where you want to travel and find a home resort that is not in the area for best usage practice?
We are planning to go full time in 4ish years and currently live in Raleigh NC area. We are also a WBCCI, Wally Byrum Airstream Club, as it is now called and our local unit does something every month for a long weekend. We try to attend some but last year only made one event.
I dont see the need to spend a lot of time at the home resort, just a place to call home more or less.

You are already a member in a park so you know how much that cost you. Memberships are pricey so some people out there will say the caution thing but that is already a done deal so all you are asking for is info on how to use it and how useful it is.
It took a little while for us to understand how things worked too and start fully using our membership. We stayed fairly close to home at first so it didn't come into play for us until we started traveling farther from home. Go to the C2C web site and look at all the places you can go in each state for ideas. Also, maybe someone at your home resort can help you get familiar with the reservation system and using the web site for buying trip points and reserving at another park.
We use both C2C and Passport America today in our travels and it works great for us. You just have to take note of any restrictions there are at the parks you wish to go to. I like our C2C membership and intend to keep it active as long as we have a trailer. It comes down to your travel habits and the places you go to make it effective. Old Biscuit summed it up very well.
