Don't renew GOOD SAM for multiple years

After being a member since 2004, I renewed my Good Sam Club membership in 2018 for 3 more years and still have 1 full year left. I just sold my MH as I now have physical limitations that will keep me from continuing to enjoy it.
I was informed in no uncertain terms that there is no way to get a refund on the unused portion of my 3 year renewal. I understand that with their rip-off road service but not for the Club.
I am going to inform my state Attorney General to see if any action can be taken.
I guess that is just another way for Marcus to enrich himself and another example of his poor business ethics.
He always says "If you're not happy, I'm not happy".
Hey MARCUS, Are you listening?

  • Yea get the AG on this right away! Personally I would always assume no refund.
  • The only thing that got signed was the check. It's just their "policy" and tough luck you can't read their minds. The renewal form that comes in the mail doesn't mention it anywhere that it can be seen. I have never been a member of any other organization that treats people that way. I'm glad that I didn't have more years to go.

We, in California, have laws that prohibit things like that. Being a progressive state has it's advantages.
  • Probably in the fine print that no one reads. If so, you have no recourse other than simply complaining.
  • Did you sign any paperwork when you joined? That could explain the rules and procedures for refunds.
I don't belong to Good Sam so I don't know.
    Keep us updated.
  • Did your renewal agreement address the refund issue if you cancelled?
