ESP on Brand New Rig, Would it cover?

Chatted with my dealer today as I am doing my delivery walk through and overnight tomorrow. This is my first rig (Open Range Roamer 376FBH 5er). Very excited.

OR has a 1/3 Warranty now (announced in the past two months). Which is pretty decent and I am ok with and all that.

What it comes down to though is this: What happens if I am out camping (and we are planning on going full time later this year and traveling) and something happens and I cannot take the rig in? Well, dealer said if I need a tech to come out to me, Warranty doesn't cover it at all. Asked him if it switched over, or if they covered parts or anything... Nothing if it's a remote job.

So this brings me to my question here: if my rig is under warranty, but warranty doesn't cover something (such as a remote repair) AND it is under the covered items of course, would the ESP cover me minus my deductible?

Going to call GS tomorrow. But figured I would ask since I found this lol.

Definitely. Not expecting anything crazy, just more looking for that piece of mind that I won't be stranded at a site. Don't mind precert at all. Totally understand it. I assume I can call around to find someone who would accept? (If there are others in the area lol).

Overall, you feel it was worth it? Many people around have told me not to worry about it until my warranty was up. But hearing that I will always have to take it in kinda worried me.

Yes, it is worth it to me. I may not always be in an area the manufacturer has a warranty repair location but I can usually find a repair facility that will do the work; whether I have to pay upfront or not.

  • The ESP requires precertification. You have to call them to approve a repair. If the mobile technician accepts the reimbursement amount they are willing to pay, they may pay him directly for the repair and you pay the deductible to him or you may have to pay any charge over what they will cover and the deductible. I have used the ESP; had to pay a mobile mechanic( he wouldn't accept) and then submit for reimbursement of their covered amount. They paid in 5 days. The key is they have to pre-certify the repair.
  • Lol. Towed quite a number of items. Will be spending most of the weekend in a parking lot with some cones learning the feel and size of the rig.
  • Nice big unit. Think about some RV driver education if you are not experienced.
