Getting Frustrated with Good Sam/NG Insurance

We've had Good Sam/NG insurance on our RV since we our first RV purchase in September, 2012. We've never had to make a claim before now and have generally been pleased with customer service when needed. Our rates have been all over the board, but not out of line with other options.

On September 29, 2015, we were involved in an accident which totalled our pickup truck (insured through another carrier). During the accident, our fifth wheel hitch broke loose and our trailer slammed into the back of our truck, bending the trailer's drop frames along with expected damage to the front compartment fiberglass, door, etc. The interior and all trailer systems were fine, so we had the trailer towed to a nearby campground so we could live in it while we settled things.

We started claims with both our truck's insurance carrier and Good Sam/NG the evening of the accident. Because we were en route to a family function when the accident occurred, we indicated to GS/NG that we would work on getting the trailer looked at a week later after we got back from that trip.

When we returned and contacted the assigned claims rep, we found that there were no GS/NG adjusters within a couple hundred miles of our location (Evansville, IN). Also, they didn't list anyone nearby on their list of approved contracted adjusters. They asked if I would find someone local, which I did.

The local adjusters, from an RV dealer a couple miles away, came to take pictures and look the unit over. They left and turned in all their findings a couple days later (approximately Oct. 9). When I talked to them later, they agreed that the frame was bent and that their shop could not work on it. They even talked with our trailer's manufacturer and Lippert (the frame manufacturer) and both indicated that there was no way they would work on it.

I've called my claims rep approximately once a week since then (now at 45 days since the adjuster's turned in their findings to GS/NG). Each time I call, my claims rep is courteous and apologetic that things are taking so long. I'm getting concerned that this might drag one for a long time. I plan to call tomorrow and see if any progress has been made, but I have my doubts.

If someone from Good Sam would like to discuss, let me know. I'll advise on tomorrow's call.
