GMAC - Good Sam Motor Home Insurance

I have a question, We took out Insurance with GMAC - Good Sam on our Class A Motorhome, then my husband died and I decided to sell the Motorhome. So, after I sold it I called and cancelled the Insurance with GMAC on the Motorhome as I didn't have the Motorhome anymore. I was told that I would have to pay a $50.00 cancellation fee. I had never heard of a cancellation fee when you sold a vehicle and cancelled the Insurance on it.

Has anyone else experienced this with GMAC and Good Sam?

Thanks,
Just Wondering
  • If your insurance is with GMAC/National General then yes they do have a cancellation fee. The only way you can find out about it is to cancel your policy. The only place that the cancellation fee is clearly written is in a manual somewhere in their office. My cancellation fee was $270. Sorry about your spouse.
  • Hello 98MHEndeavorJRC,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. If you could please send me your contact information in a private message, I would like to have someone reach out to you. Thank you for your time and have a good day!

  • My experience with GMAC was all bad. They will never get my business again.
  • Is the cancellation fee mentioned in your insurance documents? Either way, I'd probably press on with the cancellation.
