Good Sam GMAC Insurance

Purchased Good Sam Insurance this for both car and motorhome.
Requested car insurance in April to be put on storage insurance
for the season and was quoted refund of 465.98. On May 17
received check for 46.59 and when we contacted GMAC was informed
they didn't have one of our forms. Explained that we had faxed
this form on April 8, they checked and found the form that they
has never entered into their system. Was told we would receive
another check for 419.39 in a couple of weeks. Called today 6/05
because we haven't received check and was told it hadn't been
mailed! When it is mailed it will be for 352.00 as they received
the form late and they couldn't back date it. Explained again
about fax date and their mix up but got nowhere with agent on the
phone. We are waiting for a call from a supervisor!!. Wish
we checked with Good Sam Forum before signing up for
this insurance. Will most likely be going back to Progressive
insurance when this expires and just hope we don't need to
use GMAC before then.

  • It's the same with GMAC and allied roman duck. But it's only for a certain amount of years.
  • We currently have progressive insurance for our MH. We're concern about the way they figure the value of our policy. When we applied for the insurance, Progressive asked what we paid. When we asked why, they informed us that they will only payout/ settle for the amount of purchase and not the book value.Is this standard accross the industry?. I was considing going to GS insurance, but reading the posts of others, I have concerns that we'll find the same
  • Does progressive have an outlet like is place does to post problems out in public that they are having? It can happen anywhere. GS dies a great job of trying to fix things and keep their customers happy.

    Wow, Im new here and was just about to sign up with good SAM and put insurance on my first Camper that I just bought. I have 5 vehicles that are currently insured through progressive. Stories like this scare new customers away. I think Ill just call progressive and have them add my Camper to my policy. I dont want to end up like these folks. Companies need to understand that we the people really do read these reviews and take them to heart. They should hire competent help to take these calls, and take their customers seriously and not just treat them like a number. They may have just cheated this person out of a few bucks, But they also just lost a would be new customer. No hard feelings here, just a little pre maintenance.
