GMAC Insurance Nightmare

We had to file a claim on our brand new 2014 camper. We had only used it once. GMAC is the worst insurance company we have ever dealt with. They did not tell us they did not employ adjusters in our area. The adjuster they assigned was on the other side of the country and made his decision based on pictures. Our dealer is a well respected high volume dealer with 3 lots in two states. The service manager recommended a new panel for our slide out at a cost of 4600. The adjuster would only approve half of that and wanted a "patch" job. We insisted on an independent appraiser who agreed there was no way to fix the damage without it sticking out like a "sore thumb" unless you replace the panel. It has been 3 weeks and they have not approved the work. We have left numerous messages and they will not return our calls. This insurance was double what I was quoted from Allstate. Allstate also has lower deductibles. If anyone has had a similar experience how did you deal with this company? They advertise "world class" service. I have another discription for it!

  • As I stated in the other GMAC thread, we were quoted a rate through GMAC that was twice as high as Allied (Nationwide). Who do you think we went through? Lol
